This morning Kate and I talked about the incredible impact that Martin Luther King had on our world. He left this earth at only 39 years of age; yet, his influence is felt today. He was a brilliant man imprisoned in the name of equality and love. He dreamed of a world where all people, no matter their color, could sit down at the table of brotherhood. Because of his powerful work, communities like Sisi Dira are possible where women no matter their color, creed, or nationality can gather together to support one another.

So today and throughout the coming years, let’s roll up our sleeves and continue his legacy. After all, Martin Luther King’s mission is just as pertinent and powerful today as it was over 57 years ago.

“I say to you today, my friends, so even though we face the difficulties of today and tomorrow, I still have a dream. It is a dream deeply rooted in the American dream.

I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal.”
