Hey, Kate and Katy here, and welcome to Sisi Dira-- a multi-generational gathering place where women share ideas and support one another. Our vision is to create the ultimate girl clan; a greater community that supports and nurtures one another.
So… what’s the deal with the name? Sisi Dira means “our compass” in Swahili. You see, we were inspired by the social life of female African elephants. They spend their entire lives in tight-knit matriarchal family groups. But their female social circle goes well beyond the family. They have bond groups… you know those close groups of girlfriends, and then… clans which are a greater community that has each other’s back.
With that in mind, we, a mother/daughter family group, began to shape that vision. For the first few months, you’ll meet some really special people who are in our bond group. We’ve worked with many of these folks for years. They have become close friends, and a few go back as far as Kate’s college days. It’s so fun to share this vision with our friendship circle; however, our goal is for the content to grow beyond our friend/bond group to women in the Sisi Dira clan. After all, many of you have tips, tricks, and funny stories to share that will uplift and encourage others. In other words… our vision is you! We know that there will be many tweaks along the way as we put one foot in front of the other. But our goal will remain the same-- provide a supportive community of women who are trying to balance life in this crazy, go-go world. We look forward to laughing, sharing, and learning beside you all. Here’s to new adventures. May we all enjoy the journey together with compass in heart and hand!
