classic valentines decor

You just packed away the Christmas decorations, you’re paying off the bills, and lo and behold, Valentines is upon us. If we’re truly candid, we’d admit that decorating for Valentines is not on the top of our to-do list. I mean seriously, we’ve just come down from the Holiday Season high. But keep in mind, it’s fun for the kids, and honestly kids or no kids, it adds a little color into the dreary days of February.

But let’s get one thing straight. Our goal is to create a simple, inexpensive, and super easy decorating solution. Basically, we’re talking candy in jars. However, you can design different looks. Think… bright and colorful, clean and classic, or on the nose traditional.

For our office, which is crisp white with touches of pink, we went full on color with bright jelly beans, red hearts, and red/pink M&Ms.

But at my mom’s house we went a totally different direction. Because her house is dominated by neutrals, we went with a color palette of whites and touches of pink. Yes, we did remove certain colored candy, but it only took about 5 minutes. Yep, that’s right, only 5 minutes!
