before and after: katy’s guest bath

I’m always up for a challenge; plus, I love to rehab houses. FYI… the combo can be dangerous. Haha! While living in a home that I had already remodeled,  I got the crazy itch for a new project. So… we sold our place and bought a 1960s cabin that had not been touched for 59 years. Let’s just say it was NOT a showplace.

Step by step, room by room, we took spaces down to the studs and gave it a major facelift. One of the easiest rooms was our Guest Bath because the footprint stayed exactly the same. Simply stated... it was a matter of putting fresh makeup on an extremely tired face.

Also, since we rehabbed the entire house, keeping cost down was BEYOND a must. So I used a lot of porcelain tile on the cheap. Yes, you read that right… $1.99 a square foot.

Cue cheers. Then I added a splash of Carrara Marble to elevate the overall look.

Also, another element that has proven to be awesome is my swinging glass shower door. It makes it so easy to clean the tub and wash grandbabies! I can’t remember where I got this idea… I probably found it on Houzz or Pinterest, but I’m telling you, I just love it!

I hope these little tips are helpful to anyone who gets the “I’m going to gut my bathroom” bug. I’ll show some more of my remodeling finds in future posts. You know, a few kitchen and living design tricks that I found on late night deep internet dives. Until then, we’d love to see some of your great interior ideas. To show us, please send pictures and tips to hello@sisidira.com

Until then… happy decorating!
